continues to June 14 at The Lyric Opera House in Chicago.

The storyline of “Eugene Onegin”  is based on Alexander Pushkin’s novel, which revolves around a haughty aristocrat and the hard lessons he must learn about love, pride, loss and regret.

This dance production is being co-presented with The San Francisco Ballet. It originally had its world premiere in January in San Francisco.

Throughout the ballet, the Joffrey’s gifted dancers perform flawlessly to the wonderful score by Ilya Demutsky. The songs in the work easily draw in audience members. The production features live music by The Lyric Opera Orchestra, featuring Scott Speck as music director.
