Fans of musical theater won’t want to miss the latest show to hit CIBC Theatre in Chicago.
“Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical” is currently heating up the stage at CIBC Theatre and drawing enthusiastic fans. The show runs to Oct. 11.
While viewing this entertaining show, audience members will enjoy watching the talented cast as they exhibit excellent comic timing, hilarious physical comedy and strong song and dance skills.

The clever basis for this musical is the true story of how a 1943 British military operation fooled Nazi Germany into thinking the Allies would invade Greece and Sardinia instead of Sicily. And they pulled this trick off with the help of a stolen corpse.
Many people may not remember this bit of history from World War II but it is indeed a real story.
“Operation Mincemeat,” written by Spitlip, which is the team of David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoe Roberts, relays this grave story in a keen and hilarious way as the show features strong choreography, sharp acting and amusing songs. Think a Monty Python-esque performance with a little “Hamilton” thrown in.

Starring in the show are Mariah Copeland, Katie Kleiger, Luke Antony Neville, Erin Ramirez and Jake Bentley Young. All five performers in the cast expertly take on multiple roles.

“Operation Mincemeat” has won Tony and Olivier Awards and is currently on the North American leg of a World Tour.
Highlighted tunes in the show include “Born to Lead,” “Dear Bill,” “Das Ubermensch” and “Act As If.”
Audiences should be prepared to be entertained during this production.
FYI: “Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical” continues to Oct. 11 at CIBC Theatre, 18 N. Monroe St., Chicago. Tickets range from $40 to $150. Visit BroadwayInChicago.com.
